We all know the benefits of being in nature and the physical benefits of walking. There is increasing anecdotal evidence that the benefits of coaching are amplified when the conversation is taken outside. Why? Being side by side, rather than face to face, changes the dynamic of the conversation, allowing the thinker more space to reflect and think. The very act of walking drops our thought patterns into a more contemplative, reflective, and creative space. Being outside of our normal environment enables an openness and variety to thinking patterns. Being outdoors naturally createsa feeling of space and expanse. Fresh air allows us to connect with our senses more easily. For more, watch this recent interview I did about the benefits of being outdoors.
I am a trained Outdoor Coach and regardless of how we meet I like to bring nature into our conversations whether this be an invitation to walk and talk, to take a walk before we talk or use a visualisation that includes an outdoor space during a session.
Coaching outdoors can be as part of a 1:1 agreement or as
part of a team/ group event.
